News update from Tim Bridger the CEO of Citizens Advice East Devon.

“Citizens Advice will be pausing our drop-in session at the Younghayes centre over the summer holiday period.

From September 2019, we’ll be back at the centre on a different day and time – Wednesday mornings, from 9.30 – 12.30.

A face-to-face session with one of our advisors is just one way you can get information from Citizens Advice. We have a national telephone service called Adviceline, which is available 9-5, Monday to Friday, on 03444 111 444. This puts you through to a Devon-based advisor, who will talk you through your issue and take you through the next steps. We also have a webchat service – https://bit.ly/2USXEo8 – where you can talk to an advisor in real-time through a webchat.

We have a number of new services that we are launching over the summer. This includes a specialist ‘Help to Claim’ role to help people with universal credit applications, a ‘Benefits and Entitlements’ specialist to help ensure that people know which benefits they may be entitled to, and support them in applying for those, and an ‘Energy Champion’, whose role it is to help people become more energy efficient, choose better tariffs and help people with energy debt.
