Allotments
Cranbrook Town Council has 28 allotment plots at the Crannaford site which it rents to residents. There is currently an allotment waiting list, but there are plans for more allotment sites within the town’s expansion areas.
The Council is responsible for overseeing the allotments and carries out regular inspections. Allotment holders are obliged to look after their plots and if they fail to do so they may lose their tenancy.
Renting an allotment has many benefits, not only will growing and eating your own food be satisfying, but you will also know where your fruit and veggies have come from! The physical exercise involved will keep you active, and the opportunity to meet people will have a positive effect on your mental health and wellbeing.
If you would like to find out more information about renting an allotment or register your interest, please contact Cranbrook Town Council either by calling 01404 514552 or email bookings@cranbrooktowncouncil.gov.uk .
