Cyber-crime is the term generally used to describe crimes carried out online and is, sadly, on the rise. It can attack computers, laptops, tablets, smart phones, games consoles and even internet enabled devices such as televisions.

It can affect individuals and households as well as businesses, so is something we all need to be aware of. The online environment can also be used as a tool to groom, radicalise, bully, extort or exploit.

The most common types of threat include: Online identity theft and fraud, Webcam hacking, Screenshot manager software, Ransomware, Keylogging or keyboard capturing, Phishing, Ad clickers, Hacking and DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) attacks.
