During the summer months, residents may have more green garden waste to dispose of than normal. The Town Council would like to remind everyone to dispose of this appropriately and responsibly. Placing garden waste, including grass cuttings, in the Country Park is fly-tipping. This is an offence and is costly to deal with. Grass cuttings also rot and discharge unpleasant material into the watercourses. Now that the Town Council is responsible for maintaining the Country Park, any additional cost of dealing with fly-tipping and clearing the watercourses will have to be met from the Council Tax.
East Devon District Council has recently created a green waste kerbside collection service, details of which can be found here http://eastdevon.gov.uk/recycling-and-rubbish/new-green-waste-service-2018/. If you need help or advice on disposing of garden waste, please contact the Town Council or East Devon District Council.
We are keen to create a Country Park which can be enjoyed by everyone and would ask all residents to dispose of their waste, including green garden waste, properly.
