REMINDER FROM EAST DEVON DISTRICT COUNCIL – NEW RECYCLING ARRANGEMENTS BEGIN NEXT WEEK!

5th June 2017

East Devon District Council is reminding residents that the new recycling service begins next week and is asking everyone to refer carefully to the information they have been sent to ensure they are aware of their collection days, what they can recycle and how to separate the items between their box and new sack.

Households should recently have received their new green sack or containers in which to collect extra recyclables along with further detailed information about the new service, which they are being asked to read and keep handy. If you have any questions, please get in touch with East Devon District Council via their website www.eastdevon.gov.uk/onboard or on 01395 571515 as they are keen to help.

They are asking residents to be particularly careful with separating the correct items into their box and new sack. Cardboard, small electrical items, paper, glass bottles and jars, textiles and shoes and batteries go into the green recycling boxes. Plastics (including yoghurt pots, plastic meat and vegetable trays, margarine and ice cream tubs and plastic bottles), cartons and Tetra Paks, tins and cans, aerosols and foil (including trays) go into the new green sack. NB: Plastic film or wrappers, polystyrene or take-out pizza boxes can’t be recycled due to the food residue that may be left on them.
